The frequency of window cleaning depends on a few factors, such as location, weather, and how much dirt or dust accumulates. Generally, windows should be cleaned:

1. Twice a year – This is common for most households, especially if the windows don’t get too dirty.
2. Every 3–6 months – If you live in a dusty area, near construction, or in a high-pollen region, windows may need cleaning more often.
3. Monthly or quarterly – For homes in coastal or industrial areas where salt, grime, or pollutants accumulate quickly, you might want to clean windows more frequently.

Cleaning windows effectively involves using the right tools and techniques. Here’s a step-by-step guide for crystal clear windows:

Tools You'll Need:

• Bucket
• Dish soap (or a specialized window cleaning solution)
• Water
• Squeegee
• Microfiber cloths or lint-free towels
• Extension pole or ladder (if you need to reach high windows)
• Rubber gloves (optional, for protection)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare Your Cleaning Solution
   Fill your bucket with warm water and add a few drops of dish soap. 
2. Remove Dust and Cobwebs
   Before applying any liquid, dust off the window frame, sill, and screen (if applicable). You can use a small brush or a cloth to wipe away cobwebs and debris.
3. Wash the Window
   Dip your sponge or cloth into the soapy water, wring it out, and start washing the glass. Work from the top down to prevent drips, and make sure to cover the entire surface, including the corners.
4. Use a Squeegee
   Once the window is wet, use a squeegee to remove the cleaning solution. Start at the top left corner (if you’re right-handed) and pull the squeegee in a smooth, horizontal motion to the right. After each swipe, wipe the squeegee blade with a clean, dry cloth to avoid streaks.
5. Wipe the Edges
   After you’ve squeegeed the window, use a microfiber cloth or towel to wipe any remaining water off the edges and the sill. This helps prevent water spots.
6. Clean the Frame and Sill
   Wipe the window frame and sill with a cloth to remove any remaining dirt or water. If they are particularly dirty, you can use a damp cloth with a little soap.
7. Polish (Optional)
   If desired, you can polish the glass with a microfiber cloth to enhance the shine and remove any streaks. Make sure the window is fully dry before doing this.

Avoid cleaning in direct sunlight, as the cleaning solution will dry too quickly, leaving streaks.

• Use a microfiber cloth for drying, as it’s more effective at absorbing moisture and won’t leave lint.
• Avoid ammonia-based cleaners on tinted or coated windows, as they can damage the finish.
